2nd Northwestern-SJTU Special Symposium on Materials and Processes held

 From September 12 to 13, 2nd Northwestern-SJTU Special Symposium on Materials and Processes held in School of Materials Science and Engineering. The delegation of Northwestern University, an 11-member group who came from McCormick School, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Deputy President Zhongqin Lin, Executive Dean Lifeng Xi(ME), Dean Yixiong Wu(MSE) attended the symposium. The opening ceremony was held by Professor Jian Cao (NU).

 Deputy President Zhongqin Lin gave a speech and extended his warm welcome to the delegation of Northwestern University. He said, we were glad to meet you here in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, to strengthen our mutual understand and relationship through this symposium. This two-day event of “2nd Northwestern-SJTU Special Symposium on Materials and Processes” was surely a very good platform. He hoped the Joint Research Center on Materials and Processes will be built in the future.

 Professor Richard Lueptow, Professor Michael Bedzyk and Professor Cate Brinson introduced McCormick School and two departments.

 Executive Dean Lifeng Xi introduced School of Mechanical Engineering and Dean Yixiong WU introduced School of Materials Science and Engineering.

 During the symposium, professors of both universities made 21 speeches and discussed how to improve the collaboration on Materials and Processes, how to establish a Joint Research Center on Materials and Processes and etc.

 The Special Symposium strengthened mutual understand between Northwestern University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University on materials and processes. The delegation of Northwestern University and SMSE did an agreement of intent on research collaboration.
