Biographical Information
Dr. Kolan Madhav Reddy is currently a Tenure Track Associate Professor in School of Materials Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). He received his PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Tohoku University, Japan in 2013. He obtained his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, both in Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad and Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT), India in 2007 and 2010. In between he had worked for a year (2007-2008) as a Junior Research Fellow at International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI) Hyderabad, India. He did his postdoctoral research at Tohoku University AIMR, Japan and ARCI, India and Johns Hopkins University, USA for more than 3 years from Oct. 2013-2017. He joined as a full time faculty at SJTU on July 1, 2017. His broad areas of interests include advanced ceramics, mechanical behaviour of materials, materials processing and transmission electron microscopy. In his brief research career, he has authored and co-authored more than 25 peer-reviewed papers and filed a patent. His current research aimed at identifying the atomic structures using scanning transmission electron microscopy that governs the macroscopic mechanical response of advanced materials.
Research Interests
Structure and Properties of High Performance Ceramics, 2D Materials and Catalytic Materials.
