Recently, the Ministry of Education issued the "notice on publishing the results of the first batch of national first-class undergraduate courses", and the "material processing principle" course of our school was successfully selected into the first batch of national first-class undergraduate offline courses.

The course was founded in 1997 and was selected into Shanghai Excellent Course in 2005. Under the leadership of responsible Professor Jie Dong, the teaching team focuses on the all-round development of students and implements the "four in one" education concept of value guidance, knowledge exploration, ability building and personality cultivation. They focus on training students to be familiar with the basic principles of traditional and new material hot processing technology, and master the basic theory of "shape control and controllability" of hot processing products. Through the study of this course, students can have the innovative design and practical ability of "carrying out the whole chain hot processing technology according to the target demand products", so as to meet the demand of national major projects for compound innovative talents. The corresponding self-compiled textbook of the course, “principle of material processing”, was published in 2003, which is a national planning textbook of the Ministry of Education during the 10th Five Year Plan period. Since 2015, the second edition of the textbook, “principle of material processing”, has been published in 2019 to improve the theoretical teaching system and set up comprehensive practice modules to meet the needs of cultivating innovative talents. The successful selection of the course provides a demonstration for the construction of professional courses in the college.
