Prof.Baode SUN,Member of CAE
Member of CAE,Chair Professor of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and concurrently Assistant Director of the Suzhou National Laboratory. He is a Chang Jiang Scholar Distinguished Professor appointed by the Ministry of Education, a recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and the academic leader of the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) Innovative Research Group "Melt and Solidification Control of High-Performance Metallic Materials." He also serves as the Director of the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Advanced High-Temperature Materials and Precision Forming. Additionally, he is a member of the Seventh and Eighth Materials Science and Engineering Discipline Evaluation Group under the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, and an Invited Standing Council Member of the Chinese Materials Research Society. He has long been engaged in research on metallic materials and solidification technology. His research findings have provided key metallic materials for major aerospace equipment, ultra-high voltage power transmission projects, integrated circuit and chip manufacturing, among other fields. He has been awarded three National Technology Invention Second Prizes and five ministerial/provincial-level first prizes, and received the 15th Guanghua Engineering Science and Technology Award. He has published over 400 SCI-indexed papers, which have been cited more than 7,000 times, and has been granted over 200 invention patents (including more than 20 international patents). He has also authored one Chinese monograph and one English monograph.

Prof. Di Zhang, Member of CAS
Prof. Di Zhang serves as a chair professor at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and director of the State Key Laboratory of Metal Matrix Composites.He was elected as a member of CAS in 2023.He was graduated from the School of Mechanical Engineering of Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1982, obtained Master and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science from Osaka University in Japan in 1985 and 1988 respectively, and has been joined in Shanghai Jiao Tong University since 1988. In 2001, he was selected as a distinguished professor in the "Yangtze River Scholars Award" of the Ministry of Education. He has long been engaged in basic research on the application of metal matrix composites, and has made systematic and innovative research achievements in composite design and preparation, deformation processing, structure-effect relationship, and configuration control. He has published more than 600 SCI-indexed papers in academic journals, with more than 23,000 SCI citations, and has published 3 academic monographs in Chinese and English. He has undertaken major projects such as the National 863 Program, the 973 Program, the National Key R&D Program, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China,and has been granted more than 90 Chinese invention patents, and has formulated 3 national standards for metal matrix composite materials. Guiding basic research and supporting applied research, he has developed a series of lightweight and high-strength metal matrix composite materials for a number of major engineering projects in China, which have been successfully applied in high-tech fields such as aerospace.  He has won 2 second prizes of the National Natural Science Award (both as the first author) and 4 first prizes at the provincial and ministerial levels.

Prof. Jiansheng PAN, Member of CAE
Jiansheng Pan graduated from the Department of Metallurgy, Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), majoring in metal heat treatment in 1959. He stayed to teach until retirement in SJTU, serving as a professor and doctoral supervisor. He was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) in 2001.

Prof. Liancheng ZHAO, Member of CAE
Liancheng ZHAO has considerable academic attainments in the research of optoelectronic information functional materials and devices and solid microstructure analysis. He is mainly engaged in the research of semiconductor heterojunction, quantum well and superlattice, coherent quantum dot island, dual-band (two-color) photoelectric thin film materials and various luminescent materials, photoelectric conversion materials, optical fibers and devices, information storage materials, green fluorescent protein and molecular fluorescent probes, as well as their structural analysis, performance evaluation and engineering technology applications.

Prof. Stephen MANN, Member of The Royal Academy of Engineering
Stephen MANN is a founder of biomimetic materials chemistry, and is distinguished for contributions to biomineralization and for pioneering the bioinspired synthesis. His research interests are focused on the chemical synthesis, characterization and emergence of complex forms of organized matter, including models of protocell assembly.
