The 2021 International Workshop on Intelligentized Welding Manufacturing (IWIWM’2021) hosted by the Robotics & Automation Committee of Chinese Welding Society and undertaken by Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Nanyang Technological University was successfully held on December 28-30, 2021 Beijing Time. Other Branch venues Lanzhou University of Technology, South China University of Technology, Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology were held online and offline as scheduled.
The opening ceremony of the conference was hosted by the director of the Robotics & Automation Committee of the Chinese Welding Society, the Yangtze River Scholar of the Ministry of Education, and Professor Shanben Chen from the School of Materials Science and Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University. More than 300 domestic and foreign representatives attended the conference online/offline.

Specially invited experts at this conference gave keynote reports, including: Machine Learning in Intelligent Welding Manufacturing from Texas State University and University of Kentucky, Professor Chen Heping and Professor Zhang Yuming; Defect detection of WAAM process using machine learning from Professor Pan Zengxi, University of Wollongong, Australia; Digitization, sensorization and machine learning for intelligent laser additive manufacturing by Professor Bi Guijun and Zhou Wei from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology; Toward Human-centric Intelligent Manufacturing (HIM) from Wang Baicun Zhejiang University; Novel fabricate methods and process analysis in the arc additive manufacturing by Professor Fan Ding from Lanzhou University of Technology. The conference also set up 5 sub-venues in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Lanzhou, Beijing, and Zhenjiang, and a total of 64 oral reports were selected (Selected paper).
