On June 15, 2023, "SCO Sub-Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation of the SCO Forum on People-to-People Friendship and the Third SCO Member States Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition " was successfully held at Qingdao International Convention Center, It was supported by China Center for Science and Technology Exchange, guided by SCO Secretariat, hosted by Qingdao Municipal People's Government, organized by Qingdao Science and Technology Bureau and Qingdao City South District People's Government, and co-organized by China-SCO Technology Transfer Center.

The event set up six sections, including leadership speech, launching ceremony, SCO innovation release, development promotion, keynote speech, and roundtable forum. More than 150 people attended the meeting, including leaders from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Provincial Science and Technology Department, Qingdao Municipal Government and the Party Committee and District Government of Shannan District, as well as science and technology officials, academicians and experts, business representatives and famous venture capitalists from SCO countries.

In the roundtable discussion, Associate Professor Kolan Madhav Reddy from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, School of Materials Science and Engineering, and Tang Jianguo, Foreign Member of the Academy of Engineering of Ukraine and Director of National Joint Research Center for Hybrid Materials Technology of Qingdao University, as well as scholars from China University of Petroleum (East China), Shenzhen North University of Science and Technology, Kazakhstan-British Technical University, Harbin Institute of Technology and other famous universities discussed the topic of "Creating an international university 'Internet' for a new channel of SCO development".
