On the afternoon of July 14, 2023, the 8th " Zhi-Hong " International Summer School of Advanced Materials, held by the School of Materials, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, ended in Chen Rui-qiu Building 121. Professor Deng Tao, Dean of the Graduate School, Professor Zhu Shenmin, Vice President of the School of Materials, Zhang Peng, Assistant Dean of the School of Materials Science, Muhammet Toprak representative of foreign lecturers,Dorde Janackovi visiting professor and relevant teachers from the working group attended the closing ceremony. The closing ceremony was presided over by Associate Professor Shen Zhen from the School of Materials Science, with over 30 participants from five countries including Kazakhstan, Serbia, Nepal, Brazil and China.
Professor Deng Tao, Dean of the Graduate School and Vice President of the School of Materials at Shanghai Jiao Tong University delivered a closing speech. He first praised the performance of all the students who chose to participate in the" Zhi-Hong " International Summer School of Advanced Materials. In this Summer School, well-known scholars and students from home and abroad were invited to gather together to exchange ideas in a variety of academic and cultural activities, leaving beautiful and special memories. Later, he expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the staff and volunteers involved in the organization and congratulated the Summer School on its success.
Professor Zhu Shenmin, Vice President of the School of Materials at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, delivered a speech. She pointed out that "Zhi-Hong" International Summer School aims to create a high-quality international academic exchange and cultural exchange platform for students. The successful holding of "Zhi-Hong" Summer School will play a positive role in cultural and academic exchanges at home and abroad. At the same time, through this Summer School activity, students also had a preliminary understanding of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and understood the specific meaning of the word "traffic". Through this Summer School, students not only gained knowledge but also precious friendship.
Then Durga Tandon made a speech as a student representative. She combined the pictures taken during her study in Summer School to tell us what she heard, saw and felt in Summer School. "Here, I know good teachers and like-minded friends who make my trip to Summer School colorful," she said. Later, she paid high tribute to SMSE who organized the Summer School; she expressed her heartfelt thanks to the teachers and students who helped her in this Summer School.
Subsequently, the Summer School working group presented awards for the most popular posters, the best posters, the first to third prizes of group display, and the volunteer awards of the Summer School.
The " Zhi-Hong " International Summer School of Advanced Materials has been held annually since 2016. This year is the eighth "Zhi-Hong" International Summer School held by the School of Materials Science and Technology, and it is also the first time to resume offline holding after the COVID-19 epidemic. The " Zhi-Hong " International Summer School of Advanced Materials constantly innovates its teaching mode, and provides students with opportunities to understand and learn the international academic frontiers in the field of advanced materials around the advantageous research directions and research hotspots in the field of materials in the School of Materials, Shanghai Jiao Tong University. It not only expands the students' knowledge field and academic vision, but also provides a broader platform for Chinese and foreign students to exchange and learn from each other.
