To actively respond to the call of the state and the university, deepen the innovative teaching reform of teachers, intensify the efforts to promote the College's curriculum of Civics and Politics into the classroom, improve the quality of teachers' lectures and teaching effects, give full play to the demonstration role of excellent teachers' innovative teaching, and create a good atmosphere of "cultivating people with virtue and respecting teachers", the second teaching innovation competition of teacher in SMSE was held in Yao Zheng Lecture Hall, Xu Zuyao Building, in the afternoon of October 27, 2023, Xu Yibin, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee of SMSE, Zhu Shenmin, Vice Dean of Teaching, Yuan Guangyin, Director of Teaching Committee, Ms. Feng Lin of School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, and Ms. Jin Xin of School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering attended this activity. The competition was hosted by Mr. Hang Tao.

At the beginning of the competition, Mr. Xu Yibin, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee of SMSE, made a speech for the competition. He pointed out that teachers play a crucial role in affecting students' success, and the "three-foot podium" is an important stage for teachers to give full play to this role, and how to better carry out teaching is a topic that front-line teachers need to think hard about. He emphasized that teachers should actively promote the integration and innovative development of information technology and education teaching to enhance the quality and effectiveness of teaching.

Then, six participating teachers, Chen Bin, Guo Fangwei, Jin Li, Shen Chen, Wu Yunwen and Yu Ning, reported and demonstrated the innovative design of the courses they taught in turn.

At the competition, the teaching achievements and innovative designs of the participating teachers were highly recognized and evaluated by the judges. The judges and participating teachers had a lively discussion on topics such as "how to achieve a good class" and "how to complete an outstanding innovative design report".

Finally, Vice President Zhu Shenmin pointed out that the competition fully demonstrated the thriving good appearance of SMSE and the unique teaching styles of the teachers, who are all student-centered, focusing on the students' access and experience, and through innovation, constantly improving the teaching design and integrating the elements of Civics and Politics with the curriculum, which has achieved better results.
