Recently, at the 15th Clean Energy Ministerial Conference (CEM15)/ 9th Mission Innovation  Ministerial Conference (Ml9) held in Iguacu, Brazil, the high-capacity magnesium based solid hydrogen storage and transportation technology developed by Academician of Engineering Professor Wenjiang Ding and Professor Jianxin Zou 's team in Center of Hydrogen Science won the International Energy Agency Hydrogen Technology Collaboration Program Award!

Professor Jianxin Zou gave a speech in the award ceremony: the future clean and sustainable energy solution may be found on the ocean, because the ocean is rich in renewable energy such as photovoltaic, wind and wave powers, which can be used to electrolyze seawater to generate green hydrogen. And the seawater also contains a large amount of magnesium, which can be obtained in a clean and carbon-free way to transport green hydrogen in large scale to be used around the world. The safety and high hydrogen storage density of Mg make it an ideal solution for green hydrogen storage & transportation.

Jianxin Zou is distinguished Professor of the School of Materials and Science Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Changjiang Scholars Program of the Ministry of Education, Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Deputy Director of the Institute of Hydrogen Science, and Chief Scientist of the National Key Research and Development Program. He mainly engages in basic research and application development of magnesium-based energy materials, presided over and completed the national key research and development plan projects, National Natural Science Foundation projects, Shanghai Science and Technology Commission key projects, etc. He participated in the Ministry of Education innovation and intelligence base and other projects.
