Good News! Professor Jianxin Zou Awarded the "Person of the Year" Title at the International Magnesium Science & Technology Awards

On November 5, 2024, the award ceremony for the 2024 International Magnesium Science & Technology Awards was held in Chongqing, China. Professor Jianxin Zou from the Hydrogen Science Center at Shanghai Jiao Tong University was honored with the prestigious "Person of the Year" award for his outstanding contributions to magnesium-based energy materials. The International Magnesium Science & Technology Awards, established by the International Magnesium Association, the Journal of Magnesium Alloys, and organizations such as the Cai Xin Foundation, are presented annually and recognize achievements in several categories, including Person of the Year, Youth of the Year, Excellent Paper of the Year, Excellent Thesis of the Year, Standard of the Year, Innovative Process Award, Innovative Product Award, and Special Innovation Contribution Award.

Professor Jianxin Zou, a distinguished professor at the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, a Chang Jiang Scholar appointed by the Ministry of Education, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Vice Director of the Hydrogen Science Center, and Chief Scientist of the National Key R&D Program, specializes in the basic research and application development of magnesium-based energy materials. He has led and completed key national research projects, including the National Key R&D Program, the National Natural Science Foundation’s general projects, and key projects funded by the Shanghai Science and Technology Commission. Additionally, he has participated in initiatives such as the Ministry of Education's Innovation program for oversea talents. To date, Professor Zou has published over 180 SCI-indexed papers in renowned international journals such as Science, Advanced Materials, Advanced Energy Materials, Nano-Micro Letters, ACS Nano, Energy Storage Materials, and Acta Materialia. His work has been cited more than 7,400 times (H-index = 50), and he has been listed on the "Top 2% of Scientists Worldwide" whole care list.
