Research Interests

Biodegradable metals and devices
The biodegradable alloys, containing nutrient elements (Mg, Zn, Ca, Fe, etc.), have excellent biocompatibility and biosafety. The developed biodegradable Mg-Zn alloy rods with high strength are used in the manufacture of bone plates and screws, which not only possess good fixture effect, but also promote bone repair and accelerate bone healing. With the progressive degradation of the devices, they don’t need the second operation to be taken off. The high strength and toughness Mg-Zn alloy’s tubes and wires being used to staple, cardiovascular stent and so on, can reduce the restenosis rate and relieve the patients. Explores on the related animal experiments and clinical studies are of great significance in promoting the development and application of the bioabsorbable metallic materials.
