Biographical Information
Dr. Farhad Saba received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (FUM) in 2017. Furthermore, he received a B.S. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from FUM in 2009 and also received his M.S. degree in the same field from the University of Tehran in 2013. During his Ph.D., he joined Southeast University (Nanjing, China) and worked as a short research visitor in 2015. His PhD thesis focused on ‘’pulsed current field assisted surface modification of carbon nanotubes with nanocrystalline titanium carbide and using them as reinforcing agents in Al matrix composites''. He has authored and co-authored more than 30 refereed journal publications in high-level/high-impact journals, including SCRIPTA MATERIALIA, CARBON, COMPOSITES PART A/B, RSC ADVANCES, and so on. His current research focuses on the architectural toughening of metal matrix composites. He currently works as a postdoctoral researcher in the State Key Laboratory of Metal Matrix Composites, School of Material Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Shanghai, China, in Prof. Zhiqiang Li’s team.
Research Interests
His research interest lies in the functionalization of nanostructured materials, specifically carbon nanotubes, and their application as reinforcements in metal matrix composites (MMCs), as well as the design of advanced composites with heterogeneous architectures and the microstructure-mechanical property correlations.
