Biographical Information

Dr. Lei ZHAO received her Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering from School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2019. With the support of China Scholarship Council (CSC), she studied as a visiting student for one year at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST) from 2017 to 2018. After receiving her Ph.D. degree, she researched as a post doc in the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University from Jun. 2019 to Aug. 2021. During Postdoc, she was supported by the China National Postdoctoral Program for Innovative Talents and Shanghai Post-doctoral Excellent Program. After post doc, she became an assistant professor in the School of Materials Science and Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in Sep. 2021. Her research currently includes the microstructural design, interface engineering and strengthening and toughening mechanisms of heterogeneous metal and metal matrix composites. Her publications have been published in Nano Letters, International Journal of Plasticity, Materials Research Letters, Scripta Materialia, et al.
